Responsible Gambling Awareness Week 2012
14-20 May

Responsible Gambling Awareness Week is a national event to increase community awareness of gambling help services.

This year’s campaign features ‘Bob’, a former problem gambler. ‘Bob’ is not afraid to speak out about his personal experiences and you will hear him talk about this in radio advertisements as part of an advertising campaign. The campaign uses a phrase taken directly from Bob - "If you’ve been making lots of bad choices, make one good choice. Call the Gambling Helpline".

The responsible gambling message featuring ‘Bob’ was placed in restrooms at Morphettville racecourse on Saturday 12 May, to coincide with Black Caviar's world record attempt. The campaign will also run across metropolitan and regional radio, press, and in more than 500 pubs, clubs and GP waiting rooms.

The campaign will also cover sports betting. Advertisements will be shown during Adelaide and Port Adelaide AFL games on 12th and 19th May.

If you or someone you know has a gambling problem please contact the 24-hour Gambling Helpline on 1800 060 757. It is a free, anonymous and confidential telephone counselling information and referral service.
